I do not enjoy doing crazy, dangerous things. Even as a child, I was not a thrill-seeker. I've never had a broken bone, or been asked by a frightened and angry mother "just what were you thinking?:

But I do enjoy making my characters do crazy, dangerous things in my stories. Vicariously seeing how they scheme, fight, and bumble their way out of terrifying life-and-death situations from the relative safety of my desk has always been great fun. I can be pretty darn sadistic to those poor folk . . .
